The really cool thing about this book is that you can get these prints printed on fabric to create the projects. Of course, it costs some more time and effort, but I'd never come across such an idea in a book, and I think it's very neat. Now if only I had that time and effort...for now, I can admire the beauty of these whimsical prints.

Heather Ross Prints {Book Party #2}
I got this book as a gift a while back and I am soo in love with it! I am a sucker for beautiful patterns, so the premise of this book is perfect for me. Heather Ross compiled some of her super cute designs and created a few projects out of them. I wish I had all the time in the world to make each one, but for now I will just admire.
First of all, let me just say that I am very proud of myself for making a GIF. Not that hard, but you take your victories when you get them.

For the Love of Daisies...
I don't know about you but I think daisies are basically the cutest flowers out there. I can't argue with the trend because look at all of this cute stuff! If it were up to me, I would be frolicking in a meadow of daisies right now, no doubt. But instead, I'll just share with you some lovely items representing my daisy obsession.
I have accumulated quite a collection of daisy items myself. You'd better watch out, or before you know it, you'll be hoarding anything with a cute daisy on it al well.
I thought what better way to add some more of this recurring theme to my walls. Hence the paper daisy banner in my shop. I don't know about you, but daisies never get old for me.
And hence, one of the lonely items in my shop:

Video
I have been super into video tutorials lately, as they are so much easier for me to follow than good old picture-based instructions. You get to see what is going on, and you can stop and start as many times as you need (which for me, is basically every 4 seconds)
So, my latest goal has been tackling the world of sewing. It is basically one of the hardest things ever, or maybe I'm just a slow learner. I have tried making a circle skirt before, but this video seems like a much better approach. And same goes for the peter pan collar. I have tried, yet never triumphed.
Annika Victoria is ones of my fav's for video tutorials, because everything she makes is so cute! And how could I resist the catchy music in the background. So, behold:

The BUST Diy Guide to Life {Book Party #1}
Therefore, I have gone back to the old ways and picked up some books! I often forget about all of the craft books that I have sitting on a shelf with all of my other things. So, yesterday, I rediscovered some true gems that you should all check out!
And then it hit me: books + crafts = blogging possibilities! So here is my first post in a little series I'd like to call "Book Party", because why not? The plan is:
- Pick a craft book.
- Write a review/overview of sorts.
- Try to make something from/inspired by the book!
Given that not all of the books will be "how-to" type of things, I may just choose something that calls out to me and turn it into whatever creation comes upon me.
Thus, here is my first book: The Bust Diy Guide to Life by Laurie Henzel and Debbie Stoller!
look at that hair! |
cutest sewing project ever |
a perfect picnic |
perhaps one day I will skateboard... |
So in conclusion, you can basically live your whole life based on this book because there is an idea for everything. I think I will still be reaping the benefits from this book until I'm thirty, so I think I'll keep busy 'till then.

The beginning...
Hello all! Here is the start of my new blog: The Strawberry Donut. I thought I would begin with a little background on why I decided to start blogging!
Like any other Internet-loving person, I have been reading blogs for quite a while, as they provide a great deal of inspiration for me. Everything from personal style to cooking to science; I find it all pretty intriguing. As a reader, you get to learn about some cool topic and get to know the blogger behind it all. I've always thought it was a pretty neat idea. So, over the years, the thought of creating a blog of my own has been lingering. But what would I even blog about?
I never thought I would actually get around to making a blog, but I recently started a little Etsy shop, entitled "The Strawberry Donut". (hence my creative blog title ;) ) This has been a step up from the usual crafting I do, so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to share my creations with the world, or at least a small part of the Internet.
I have always been into crafting and making things, though trust me, I'm not a pro yet. I often jump from one project to another pretty quickly, switching mediums and materials as I please. Don't get me wrong: this creative freedom is nice - but I do tend to have trouble actually finishing things. Therefore, I thought creating a blog might force me to commit to one project until I can knock it out.
So, with this blog, plan to see a variety of crafts and projects. I'm very into paper crafts, sewing, jewelry making, and all sorts of other random things. I also want to include some tutorials, and of course I'll share the love with some other bloggers/crafters that I love! Thanks for reading :)
